About: This five-day course, presented by Wilcox Environmental Engineering, Inc., is designed to satisfy the 40 hours of initial training for site workers as required for operations conducted within the scope of OSHA’s HAZWOPER standard (29 CFR 1910.120). The course will consist of classroom training, equipment demonstrations and a hands-on proficiency evaluation. Topics covered include regulatory overview, hazard communications, radiation, toxicology, safe work practices, medical monitoring, trenching and excavations, personal protective equipment, respiratory protection, confined spaces, air and environmental monitoring, emergency action plans, fire safety, hazardous material regulations, planning and organizations, preparations for site and fieldwork, material handling and decontamination procedures.
